Journey To The Pink Planet

Smekermann One of the better heavy psych albums I’ve heard in a while. Up there with the new Apex Ten. I had a high thought today that Sirdarja is similar to Indian classical raga except it’s in a different medium - it starts loose and explores its key (alap), then you have a rhythmic second movement (jor), then you move on to guitar improv backed by drums, culminating in a fiery finale (gat). These are modern-day ragas, expressed in a heavy psychedelic format.

lloydd This is fantastic release by this band from Italy. The songs on this album take you on a journey through hot deserts, tropical rainforests, lush meadows, rugged mountain terrain, the oceanside and to space .The bands name means Octopus in Nepalese. The musicianship is top notch led by some incredible guitar playing. Riffs, solos acoustic all supported by excellent bass and drums. Favorite track: Calima.

about

Journey to the Pink Planet is a quest for self-discovery. We often travel around the world to reach a deeper level of understanding: we grow up, explore, and seek our own path. The journey itself is the experience that changes us, gives us awareness, and allows us to find our true selves.
Journey to the Pink Planet is a paradox made possible by the human mind, which leads us to greater inner awareness through physical and spiritual experiences. We don’t know who we are, but now we know WE ARE. And this album is our story.

Akṭōpasa:

Lorenzo Barutta: guitar
Silvio Tozzato: bass guitar
Marco Sebastiano Alessi: drums
